A Testamony from a Village Chief

October, 2007

Shalom!

Thank you for interceeding. As a result of your prayers, here’s a testimony of village chief, Ruel Piol of Sitio Panlawayan, Tapak, Paquibato District whose village was afforded with water project:

If other tribal villages in the mountains of Paquibato can be reached by hiking 3 hours, coming to our place in Sitio Panlawayan would take one day hike. Maybe unbelievable for you but this is really true. Maybe this is the reason why people from outside would have no interest to visit us. I was amazed one day when the group of TMFI came to visit and extended help to build the much needed water project for us.

When we started building the water project it was really hard for us. Some of my people got sick, carrying sacks of cement from the highway. Bringing in heavy ray bars, plywood, pipes and other materials took us two days to reach our village. Transporting of materials for me was like carrying the cross for my people who are thirsty of water. We slept sometimes in the neighboring villages to spend the night away to reach our destination the next day.

One time while hiking I asked God if He really loves us people in the jungle. Tears fell down my cheeks when the water project was done – finally an answer came to the question I long asked! God’s assurance of love to us did not end there. In one of the Bible studies conducted by TMFI staff, I received the Lord together with some of my fellow builders. God is great! I received the Lord as my personal Savior with a bonus package of potable water system for my people. Thanks to those who supported us through TMFI with this treasured project. You are the answer of our prayers. God bless you all!

We are thankful that our work in the mountains is making impact and immensely growing. Your support in prayers and otherwise is an inestimable encouragement. Thank you for standing by in behalf of the tribes. YOUR PRAYER WORKS!

“When the poor and needy search for water and there is none, and their tongues are parched from thirst, then I, the Lord, will alswer them. I, the God of Israel will never forsake them .” (Isaiah 41:17)
