ON MOUNTAIN MISSIONARY WORK

(From Brother Andry Lim, former Chairman of TMFI)

Dear Precious Partners and Praying Friends,

Being involved in mountain missions is so consuming. It is demanding; very challenging. Allow us to bring to you the concerns of our missionaries in the field. They have not been mentioned nor openly appreciated but their faithfulness and persevering labors helped make this ministry an encouragement to thousands of needy people and their dedicated lives a blessing both within TMFI and to our friends.

They are our Marthas, the ones who do all the tedious task. Pouring their whole strength, they work as though the nights are day and the time to eat a time of leisure. They are our Ephaphras, risking their lives delivering encouragement and sharing the Gospel to where it has not yet been heard. They are your missionaries.

Who can measure their loneliness in a sleepy, far away village which could be indifferent or critical to the Gospel message they bring? How can we dig deep into their hearts when they get homesick and their minds travel back home to the warm touch of mother's hands? How much strength do they need to continue guiding other people to the Lord when loved ones are still lost?

But their zeal and enthusiasm for souls do not waiver. Brethren, we urge you to appreciate their silent and joyful service to the Lord by blessing them in a special way. They listed their needs for mountain gears like sleeping bags, hiking shoes, backpacks, tents, portable water purifiers and other stuff needed for mountain work. These little conveniences will sure ease a bit out of their many discomforts. Used or unused mountain gears will be very much appreciated.

They too have wounded spirits. Can we touch them in prayer and soothe their pain? They sure will be able to continue the crusade for souls as we implore God to strengthen and encourage them.

Until all are reached,

BROTHER ANDRY
