Happy New Year!

"All things are done for God’s glory." This is the simplest summary we give for all our engagements in missions last year. Often quoted, often heard. THANK YOU VERY MUCH for all the support! Without you, we have not gone this far.

TMFI stands at the doorstep of this New Year with expectations that God holds tomorrow even as He did it yesterday. Cross over this Jordan…even when the river is flooded. The book of Joshua is clear. The Lord is instructing us to move ahead at a time when so many adjustments are being made because ministry support is low.

Like we said, TMFI remains committed to train laborers for the harvest. The ongoing construction of our Center for Culture and Development in Tugbok, Davao City which will open in May, is a proof of God’s faithfulness to His call.

We are appealing to you to be part of a very strategic Support Band to whom we shall need your strong back up as we heed God’s call. Here are our project highlights for 2008.

Educational Assistance
TMFI provides secondary and higher education opportunities through sponsorship to deserving IP youth who will also be potential leaders in their communities. This educational assistance is called “Ayag Fontillera Educational Fund”. We have 6 scholars last year and will add 6 more student scholars this year – all of them are in high school. Project Cost: 82,000.00

Adopt-A-School
Oftentimes, government teachers in the mountains hold classes only 3 times a week. As a result, daycare class graduates of our Foundational Learning for Indigenous Kids (FLIK) loose interest to continue their schooling in Grade 1 because of the irregular classes. TMFI provides Grade 1 teacher that will teach 5 days a week that aims to sustain the interest and motivation of our FLIK graduates to go to school. Currently we are adopting Gumitan Elementary School in Marilog District, Davao City. Project Cost: P 86,510.00

Mountain Movers Training (MMIT)
MMIT is a 3-month training program designed to equip Christian workers for cross-cultural work. Training focuses on church planting and community development. It includes spiritual and practical preparations for the mission field. We will be training 20 students this year. Project Cost: P 151,100.00

Technical Assistance to Regional Training Centers
A mentorship program for trainers of churches or groups adopting TMFI’s Tribal Workers Intensive Training (TWIT) curriculum or integrating our training modules in their training in their respective areas. We are currently mentoring 2 Regional Training Centers in Agusan del Sur and Marilog District, Davao City. Project Cost: 113,200.00

Alternative Learning System (ALS)
An educational assistance to graduates of TWIT course to finish their elementary or secondary schooling. It aims to empower them to access other relevant training/schooling to become effective ministers. We are adding 8 more ALS students this year apart from the existing 7 students last year. Project Cost: P81, 600.00

Workers Convention
Field workers need continuous education to gain needed skills for effective ministry. They also need spiritual retreat and refreshing to re-charge and be inspired to continue in their ministries. Project Cost: P42, 900.00

With the Lord and you by our side, we will accomplish these projects. We count on your prayers. We continue to knock on heaven’s door to raise the needed amount. Our fund sourcing program is going on where in one can give a monthly pledge of P500 per month or a one time giving of P5, 000 for one year.

Thank you for sharing the same heartbeat with us and for keeping with us on the firing line.

Your bondservant,
