Matigsalug

Population - 30,000 (2002 SIL). 5,000 monolinguals. Ethnic population: 30,000.

Region - Davao del Norte, southeast Bukidnon, Mindanao.

Alternate names - Matig-Salug Manobo

Dialects - Kulamanen, Tigwa, Tala Ingod, Matig-Salud. Tigwa has marginal intelligibility of Matigsalug. Tala Ingod may have adequate intelligibility of Matigsalug.

Classification - Austronesian, Malayo-Polynesian, Southern Philippine, Manobo, Central, South, Ata-Tigwa

Language use - Speakers increasingly use Cebuano.
