The Philippine Eagle, a
resident of Davao, and the
largest eagle in the world.

Tribal Mission Foundation International's Headquarters are located in Davao, southern Philippines. Davao City is located deep in the heart of the Philippines' south, in the southeastern portion of Mindanao Island.

The Philippines is made up of 7,100 islands (some 1,000 of which are populated) divided into three groups: Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. With a population of 16 million, Mindanao is the second largest island.

The city and region have a number of indigenous tribes like the Bagobo, Manobo, Mandaya, and Bilaan tribes, as well as the Matigsalug tribe which TMFI has been working with for years.

There are lots of things for travellers to do. Tourists can try climbing Mount Apo, the country's tallest peak; nature trekking or hiking at Eden Nature Park; exploring the numerous pineapple, banana and other fruit plantations of which the region is known for; kayaking, sailing or just lazing around at any of the numerous beach resorts, including white sand resorts on nearby Samal Island. Also there is the Kadayawan sa Davao, a grand fiesta that happens every third week of August. At this fiesta you can see indigenous tribes dancing to ancient rhythms, horse shows, floral float displays, and other fun-filled activities.
